The collaboration between the University of Florence, the University of Paris-Saclay (UVSQ) and the ENSAM of Bordeaux led to an innovative study on wind effects on large Gothic cathedrals, the ultimate goal of which is the conservation of cultural heritage in the framework of the ongoing climate change.
The experimental investigation was carried out in the CRIACIV Boundary Layer Wind Tunnel (http://www.criaciv.com/), focusing on the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris as a paradigmatic case study.
